In this episode, Brenda shares her experience growing up in Portland, Oregon, in a racially and culturally diverse working-class family. She also talks openly about the challenges of being neurodivergent (AuDHD, CPTSD and Synesthesia), overcoming issues with her voice and eventually becoming an accomplished performer and movement/dance teacher who travels and lives internationally.
Bio
Brenda Jean Russell grew up in Portland, Oregon in a working-class neighborhood. She has over 24 years of teaching and performing experience. She founded DanceMode, a movement and social dance platform, offering partner dance instruction, somatics, and workshops across London, Europe, and Portland. Her work focuses on teaching a movement-based lifestyle, sensual living and community through social dance.
